iPhone app: I can save video clips to my device, and they play on my device, but I am unable to send them (imessage, whatsapp)
I have several stick up cams (battery operated). This issue has only appeared in recent days. I have an up-to-date iPhone 16, with latest version of everything.Suddenly the video clips created and saved by the ring app on my phone are somehow corrupted/incorrectly encrypted. While I can save them to the camera roll and play them on my device, I get an error when trying to send them via any social media apps. It seems the preview is corrupted which causes abortion of the operation. Messages with ring video attached simply won't send. There was never any problem with this until a few days ago.Things that I have tried to fix it:- edit the video / shorten it and save as new video (doesn't change anything)- import in iMovie and export as a new video (getting error message)- mp4 converter (getting error message)I noticed that sending via email works, but the preview/playing the video from within the email does not work. If the video is downloaded from the email and then played, it works. So something got broken in the way videos are saved. Any assistance appreciated. Not being able to easily share videos I've downloaded is a serious downer and make the whole system a lot less attractive.

Hi @user_a10209. Can you tell us more about this? What version of the Ring app is downloaded and what iOS do you have? When sending these videos, are you sending from your camera roll? Are you able to send other videos from your camera roll? Would you be able to share a screenshot or screen recording of the error you get? You can also share videos using the methods mentioned here.

UI’m also having the same issue. I have the latest ring app and most recent iOS update 26.1 I am unable to send the downloaded ring videos from my camera roll through iMessages or SMS (fails to send with ❗️) sometimes I can send them through Facebook messenger. BUT if I screen record the videos I can send them.

UUp until today, I have been able
to download videos from Ring and send via iMessage. I have tried multiple times today to do this and every time it won’t upload and says “message send failure”. I also tried sending the videos in Facebook messenger and I get an error “couldn’t send”. Ring app version 5.93.0 and iOS 18.7.1. I am able to send other photos and videos from my camera roll. Screenshot attached.

I am having the same exact problem… none of my Ring videos will send in the iMessage app on my iPhone since October. I’m using iOS 26.1 and Ring app version 5.91.1, so everything is currently up-to-date. but my videos will still not send. In the many years I’ve had my cameras, this has never happened.
