Timeline broken after update to version 5.114.0
event-history-timeline

When looking back through timeline motion events, everything is OK until the “loading” message appears then starts playing again - the video stays frozen regardless of trying to view older or newer events.  Just started seeing this problem with 5.114.0. Anyone else having this issue?

I can confirm the same issue on iPhone after updating to Ring 5.114.0.I have three Ring devices. The problem only affects the camera with the highest number of recorded motion events. When scrolling backwards through Event History, everything works until "Loading" appears. The timeline then freezes. If I exit the camera view and go back in, I can continue scrolling until it eventually freezes again. The same Ring account works correctly on an iPad running Ring 5.113.0, and another family member running 5.113.0 does not have the problem. This started immediately after updating to 5.114.0.

Thanks for confirming this new problem.  How do we get Ring support to do something about it?

It's a bit surprising that only the two of us have reported this so far. I'm based in Norway, and the problem started immediately after I updated the Ring app to version 5.114.0 a few days ago. Hopefully Ring staff are monitoring this forum and can reproduce the issue. Since it appears to be related to 5.114.0, I'm hoping a fix will be included in the next update.

I am based in the United States.  I just finished up with a 1 hour call to report this to Ring customer support.  Long story short, I finally spoke with a gentleman named Kim who is part of the Neighbors and Solution Expert Team.  He indicated this problem is elevated to their engineering team for resolution but they only work Monday to Friday so nothing will happen today Sunday.  He said I will get an email or SMS update on the status but to expect this to take 7 to 10 business days.  His workaround is to use the event history to select each event to view which is ridiculous if you have allot of events.  I told him this is not acceptable, that I use the time to scrub through video quickly for what I am looking for…he understood but that is all he can suggest now.

Thanks for your efforts and for contacting Ring Support. I agree it's disappointing that this still hasn't been fixed. Since the issue appears to have been introduced in version 5.114.0, I would have thought Ring could simply roll back to the previous version while they work on a permanent fix. That would at least restore normal functionality for affected users.

Seems to be a recurring problem. It’s happening again now after the latest update. (10-6-2026)

I hope they fix it soon!
