Recently bought and installed a Ring video doorbell2. The installation and setup went fine. Overall it's performing great. The issue I'm experiencing is in testing I have found that the speaker volume on the unit is very, very quiet. As in if I were to use the two-way chat function when someone Rings My doorbell, I would be able to hear them fine, but the caller can't hear me on the outside. Ring 2's actual volume is almost unintelligible because the volume is so low.I would use this feature very often. Ring engineer can fix this issue. Anybody else has the same experience with the Ring 2?

The microphone setting on my IPhone as not the issue. It was already enabled. I am still having issues where not a single person can hear me talking to them via the doorbell. I can hear them perfectly but even if they put their ear on the device itself they can hear that I am talking but it is so low that they cannot make out what I am saying. This was one of the main features that I bought this doorbell for and it has been a total fail. I am also dismayed by how long this issue has been open without a viable fix. :-(

XI have a Sony Z3 running the latest Android 10 and my girlfriend has the Huawei P10 on version 9.1, both of us are unable to be heard when we speak, even with events off or on. Ring replaced the doorbell 2 and Chime Pro and still the same. My friend connected to my doorbell and his Sony was loud.It clearly is software and compatibility with versions and phone type. The adverts RING have out there are not true, you can only shout at burglars and reply to delivery drivers if you have a certain type of phone.I think I will be writing to Watch Dog, Ring clearly don't have a fix as 23 pages into this thread spreading months and nobody can get audio working properly, it's not even funny.

H"I think I will be writing to Watch Dog, Ring clearly don't have a fix as 23 pages into this thread spreading months and nobody can get audio working properly, it's not even funny." At this point, the only remedy that I see is a class-action lawsuit. Clearly the product performance does not match the advertisements. It does not work with Amazon's flagship product, Alexa. They would lose the case in a New York minute.

XI have tried everything from resetting the RING application to turning various things on and off on in the house and my phone. It's not worked properly for months and I have been answering RINGS questions time and time again. Then they go quiet and don't reply as it's now being looked in to by their higher-up team of experts.RING replaced the doorbell two and even the door chime and so it's not hardware for me because it still doesn't work properly, people cannot hear us through the doorbell unit when we answer the doorbell and talk. I have a Sony Z3 and my girlfriend has a Huawei, yet my friend's newer Sony worked when he logged in from a different location.I had another email back which basically admitted fault from the RING application which read:"We don't have any public details to share, but it should be in one of the upcoming App updates available in the Play Store. As there are no public details to share I can only presume it's just to shut me up for another few months. It must be hard to cover all bugs in software capability between phone versions and actually devices but that isn't my problem as a consumer!

I had this problem, using my Samsung mobile phone (S10+). The volume on my phone was all the way up, yet outside when I would answer a ring I could barely hear the person outside, and they couldn't hear me very well either. My wife's iPhone worked fine, much better volume! After being on the phone with Ring support and trying a few different things and nothing helping, I decided to go into the settings on my phone and found the fix. In my SETTINGS \>SOUND AND VIBRATION \>VOLUME... I found that there were 4 different volume levels, and 3 of them were set low. Attached are 2 pictures. One shows how these settings look if you're having the problem. The other with the levels all the way to the right is what fixed the problem. I'll bet this is the problem most people with Samsung phones are having. So go into settings and lock all your volumes to max, as I did in the second image and it should fix your problem!!

TI'm using Alexa Echo Show and having the same problem. I can hear/see the caller but the caller can't hear me well. The person at the door can only hear a faint whisper. The sound and video are so beautiful from the caller. I bought both Ring Doorbell 2 and the all-new Ring chime. So disappointed!!!!! Please do something!!!!!

DI have had this same problem since I bought my Ring video doorbell 2 last year. I can hear fine on my phone watching the feed. There is no sound on my porch through the doorbell speaker. I have called Ring and argued with them. They ask for access to my recordings and then tell me that the sound is fine on the recordings so there is no issue. And if there is one, then it must be with my internet. I have a 200 mbps connection. That is clearly not the issue! I’m so frustrated.

I’m so frustrated.I also have had this problem for the past year, I was one of the first few people reporting the issue on this thread and we still have not had a proper fix yet. So this leads me to think that either a) Ring is not taking the issue seriously, or b) it is a hardware/software problem that they are unwilling/unable to fix. I do not even try to communicate with any callers now, I just answer the door or not depending on the caller. The Ring Doorbell app has also become too slow in connecting after I hear the initial call to when the Live View is displayed on screen, most times the caller has left before I can even see who is there. I have gigabit fibre broadband with a fast, reliable and stable connection to the net and a mesh wireless network that operates flawlessly with all my other devices, the Doorbell has a RSSI of 43 and its own dedicated access point. I posted a video of the problem last year on this thread and the issue is still **Not** resolved. At this point I will just have to live with the crippled device until it reaches its end of service or until something better comes along that does not cost me another €200+ and a yearly subscription.

Tried that rapid ring and it still doesn't resolve the audio issue at the doorbell end (nobody can hear me speak from my phone to doorbell)Ring gave me an update that still no release date for the fix but they know it is a problem. Other than it being nearly six months they say I have a free year plan for the video footage. It's a poor offer and I have a security camera so needed the doorbell and answering facility which it is not fit for purpose

H"I have a free year plan for the video footage. " When my issues could not be resolved after installing 3 different doorbells I suggested to the tech that Ring should be compensating by giving those with problems free recordings at no charge until the problem is fixed. It makes sense to me, losing a major feature (inaudible audio at the door despite the commercials), and gaining free recording. Right now, they probably think that the population of those complaining is small enough such that they do not have to give you anything in return for a defective product. If Ring does not work with the flagship product, Alexa, it does not work, period.

Hi, did you fix your problem with the 2-way audio being quiet? If not then I just sat for 2 hours trying to work out why I sounded so quiet when I spoke through my new Ring 2, then I found the speaker at the bottom and realised I hadn’t peeled the sticker off it! Soon as I did that and tested it I almost deafened myself haha it definitely works now

DIt isn’t just a low volume issue, there is significant distortion on both ends, and at night there is a hum caused by the infrared leds. The mic is turned up so sensitive that it picks up electronic noise from the device itself. Then if you talk to someone at the door, they can’t hear you and you hear an echo of yourself. I had 2 devices with the same issue and was given the run around. I fixed it by cutting my losses and buying an Arlo which works exactly as it should. Ring lost me as a customer

SDo you have pictures of where the speakers is? I have iPhone X and visitors can’t hear me, so annoying, might as well buy the cheap door bells from China!!

Solved the same problem of low volume at the doorbell. Many of the responses tell you to "check or select the microphone" or "enable the microphone". What they don't make clear is where that is done. For me it was in my Iphone's Privacy Settings under Microphone,Iphone \> Settings \> Privacy \> Microphone, then make sure the icon is green next to Ring or Ring AppAs soon as that was done, everything worked great.I spent several hours trying to solve this including Chat with a Ring Tech for at least 30 min and he never told me to check my Iphone Privacy Settings.Hope this helps others. It was very frustrating considering the number of people I found complaning about this dating all the way back to 2017, and this is now March 2020.Ring should be able to make this crystal clear in their documentation and help pages and Tech Support.
