Request and suggestion for Ring company
i'm loving my Ring camera. but i dont like how its turning on at night everytime a car goes by. i've edited the view of the camera where i want it to track movement but unfoturnately since i live right next to a main street, it catches all the break lights at night and goes off every few minutes. this wouldnt be a problem except my new neighbors room faces the ring light, and their window doesnt have a curtain or anything to block the light from coming into their room. is there anyway to disable the camera from sensing the brake lights? if i edit the view any more then the area i need the camera to watch will be undetectable, making the camera useless.i also have a suggestion. i think it would be a nice to have these ring cameras that didnt look like spot lights at a prison facility. i want to get one for my front porch now, but it just doesnt go with the look of the house. i've seen other cameras on amazon that i love the look of but they all have negative reviews. plus now that i have a ring i dont want to buy a different brand and than have to have 2 apps on my phone sending me messages all day and night. so just a thought for the design team.thanks for giving my family a little more feeling of security now that we have your camera watching our back yard.

Hi @user_f0c5a0. In certain circumstances, lights that shine on your camera can "trick" it into activating. This happens because they use a Passive Infrared detection system which uses shifts in temperature to detect motion. A light shinning on there may cause the system to be overly sensitive and turn on, but it also allows it to not miss anything. You can try to reduce the sensitivity, but as you mentioned, this may cause you to miss important events.
