Bypass Current Chime
Hi, an electrician installed my Doorbell Pro 2 wired today. The instructions said to locate the old chime and bypass it by disconnecting 2 wires and placing them into the wire nuts provided, but the electrician did not do that. He turned off power, installed the doorbell at the front of the house and put the 24v transformer into the fuse board and that’s it. The Ring doorbell works and the old chime does not (which is fine as I’ll get the Ring Chime instead). My concern is that nothing was done to the old chime as per the instructions. Will it be ok that he didn’t disconnect the old chime and place the wires into the nut or should we do so? Ireland is the location of that makes any difference. Thanks!

Hi @user_63bf5c. I would suggest you install your Doorbell as instructed in the instructions to make sure it operates correctly at all times. If a step was skipped, I would recommend going back and making sure the step is done.
