Hi @AxeMan. A low [RSSI](https://community.ring.com/t/how-it-works-your-ring-device-rssi-good-vs-poor/229) can definitely be the culprit here. Improving your RSSI is key to reducing delay in your Ring system. A [Chime Pro](https://ring.com/products/chime-pro-gen2) is a great way to improve your RSSI and notify you when there is activity at your doorbell. Additionally, ensure that you are using the best [WiFi channels](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407014643732-How-to-Change-Router-Channels-) for communication.

Hi Tom, how does a Ring Chime differ from a TP WiFi booster? I have an Alexa which triggers quite quickly when it detects motion or someone rings the bell. However the phone is delayed by a minute or so sometimes by which time the caller has gone.

A Ring [Chime Pro](https://ring.com/products/chime-pro-gen2) acts not only as a WiFi extender that is specific for Ring devices (only Ring devices can connect to a Chime Pro), but it also allows you to link it to your Ring Devices for an audio notification. With a Chime Pro, you should hear this notification within a few seconds of the event happening. I suggest purchasing this via Amazon Prime so if you decide this is not for you, you can easily return the Chime Pro with no hassle.

Just an update.I tried the Chime Pro but it was no better than the TP WifI booster. So I did as my son had suggested as we have an ethernet point downstairs we used a wireless access point and a Injector POE. We now get a RSi of 48. It was a more expensive option but he is a network engineer and has experience of these things. The other bonus is we have full WiFi signal downstairs now and things run much faster.

I have this same problem and it's consistent in any part of the house. It just seems to take a totally random amount of time from about 3 seconds to 20 seconds to come through on any phone. We miss deliveries etc sometimes because of this. It's just completely unreliable and this happens across multiple phones and regardless where we are in the house, so it's not a matter of how close we are to the router.

I have the same problem. The router is about a foot from the doorbell (just the other side of the front door) and my wifi signal is string everywhere in the house. Driving me bonkers.

I have the same issue too. We bought a ring doorbell last year ready for moving into our new house 12 months later. It's now fitted and we are happy with the video quality but notifications take a few minutes to come through. Our WiFi and RSSI signal are strong and the router is within a metre of the doorbell. It's extremely annoying.
