Ring Door Bell - Setup not complete
HI, I have ring Video Door Bell Pro 2 version. It was working fine until couple of days and suddenly stopped working. I have tried to reset by pressing orange button - it then resets and initializes, but comes to same problem. I have tried to restart wifi, my phone and tried with another phone - no luck. I have even tested the power coming from transformer and it is consistently around 21 V.I am not sure what is causing the issue. Can you please help?

When you say the Ring Doorbell stopped working, was it disconnected from wifi, or not receiving power? If it was disconnected from wifi, what was the last reported signal strength? You can find this on the Device Health page in the Ring app. To reset the Doorbell, make sure you are holding down the setup button for 20 seconds. After the reset is done, you'll need to walk through a new setup using the steps under Set Up a Device in the Ring app.

UI have pressed the orange button for 20 seconds and also for 30 seconds and it says the following message "Welcome to Ring, but before it is complete it says "SETUP DID NOT COMPLETE".

UI have done this and it still says welcome to the ring and then it cuts out and says SETUP DID NOT COMPLETE in the audio instructions. On Facebook I spoke and sent a video of it doing so, they told me that I have a defective product.

I also just had the same issue happen to me this morning. Door bell was working fine until last night at ~4am. Stopped responding and now I can't get it to reconnect. Doing the reset causes the doorbell to "Welcome to Ring..." the light spins once and then "Setup did not complete." Last shown power and wifi settings were fine. No network outages/power issues.

UFollow-up to this post for anyone else that may have had this happen: I ended up calling the support number directly. They had me do the whole song and dance of doing a hard reset and trying to reconnect, power cycling and trying to reconnect, and one other thing I don't remember. The same issue kept happening during the entire process and the person on the phone could hear it saying "Welcome to ring..." -> "Setup did not complete." The doorbell ended up stuck in a full boot-loop where it would do pulsing white light like it was booting, then say the things, then the whole process would repeat like 5 minutes later. The support person ended up ordering a replacement for me as well as a shipping return label for my current one. As the current one is outside of warranty/purchased a long time ago, this hints to me that Ring must have pushed a bad firmware update out/the firmware corrupted itself during install and they want to investigate why it happened. I received the emails for the ordered replacement and shipping label but as of this time have not received the replacement unit yet. I'm heavily annoyed that they essentially bricked my perfectly working unit remotely without any input/permissions from me. But, I am at least glad they are making things right by owning up and replacing the bricked unit. Also, because of the boot-loop, I had to remove power entirely from the doorbell (Which with it being a wired unit means even the house mechanical sound unit doesn't work.) otherwise it was going to keep basically announcing to the world that "Hey, I'm not actually working.".

I just had the same issue today... lost connectivity and now cannot reconnect. I tried powering it down (disconnecting) and even a hard reset. It goes into its "Welcome to Ring... blah blah" but before it can complete it says "SETUP DID NOT COMPLETE." Very frustrating!
