My old ring doorbell has issues and might need to be replaced. Does the new units use the same mounting brackets as the original ring door bell?

    Hi @BRONTE. All of our devices have their own mounting brackets and do not share mounting brackets.

      But why?  I've had my older version ring for YEARS until it just pooped out.  Now, I have to drill holes in the brick that don't match the holes already in the brick.  This makes no sense as to why Ring didn't even attempt to consider customers with older versions when updating the device.

    I don’t need to use the existing bracket but would rather not drill new holes in my door. Can I use the existing holes with the new bracket?
