Im having the same issue, the Pro version. Whenever I disconnect and reconnect my solar panel, it initially charges for a day around 80%, but then it suddenly stops charging and doesn’t resume. Very frustrating. Same everytime. Seems like a software issue.

CHi @user_4c9ee3. Make sure the Ring Solar Panel is receiving several hours of direct sunlight. Indirect sunlight will not be enough to help the Solar Panel provide a trickle charge to your Spotlight Cam. If this issue persists, our support team can provide further assistance.

I’m having the same exact issue. I had older stick up cams with lights and older solar panels with no problem but this camera drives me nuts! It also can’t seem to keep a good signal. I placed this camera in the EXACT spot I had the old camera and never had an issue with connection and this new camera that we have only had a couple of months is constantly going offline and then batteries constantly needed replaced too.

Ring doesn't seem to care enough to update the firmware of the camera. While a consumer SHOULD NOT have to do this DAILY, the fix seems to be unplug/replug the solar panel from the camera each day, or, if that is not possible due to the location of the camera, you need to REBOOT the camera EVERY MORNING. In "Device Health" near the bottom, select "Reboot This Device" and that will start the solar panel charging again. But MAKE SURE you do this only when the sun is out. If you do this early enough in the morning while it's still dark, it won't reset the charging....ask me how I know this...HA! HEY RING, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND UPDATE THE FIRMWARE!

Usame issue. spotlight cam pro. if i unplug solar and plug back in it charges until the sun goes down. i tried the reboot device but that didn't work. i'm just gonna get a long usb-c cable and drill a hole to plug in to power in my garage. sad that ring wont fix this issue with a software change. pitiful

Hi @gwjoeymed. What is the battery level? That Solar Panel won't trickle charge the battery until it drops below 90%. You'll also need to ensure that the Solar Panel gets at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day to have charging power. If this continues to happen, please follow up with our support team. You can also get in touch by sending a private message @Ring on Facebook or Twitter.
