The 'Outdoor Camera Plus - Battery' model ( https://en-uk.ring.com/products/outdoor-cam-plus-battery?variant=55103959269759 ) states in the FAQ's:

What’s the difference between Outdoor Camera Plus Battery and Outdoor Camera Plus Plug-In?

The main difference between Outdoor Camera Plus Battery and Outdoor Camera Plus Plug-In is how they receive power.

Outdoor Camera Plus Battery is powered by a removable, rechargeable Quick Release Battery Pack. Add a second Quick Release Battery Pack (sold separately) to have an extra charged battery pack on-hand. Outdoor Camera Plus Plug-in is powered by an included Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter that plugs into a standard AC power outlet. The Indoor/Outdoor Power Adapter (USB-C) may also be purchased separately to convert an Outdoor Camera Plus Battery to Plug-in for nonstop power.

  1. Can a battery be installed in the Outdoor Camera Plus, whilst being connected to and powered by the USB-C power supply?
  2. If so, will the battery be charged from the USB-C power supply?
  3. In a power cut will the Camera revert to battery power and remain operational? (Wi-Fi router has a battery back-up so wondering if the camera could also operate on battery power to give security camera coverage in a power cut, whilst camera and router batteries last)

Hi @user_709c15. Great questions! Yes, a battery can be installed. I would actually recommend installing it this way. If there's a power outage, the battery will serve as a back-up, keeping your cam up and running, provided that you have internet. The hardwire will keep your battery charged up. Let me know if you have additional questions.
