Indoor Cam Gen 1 - Can't set up.
troubleshooting

I've owned a Indoor Cam for years purchased new with my doorbell. It's been in the cupboard for a couple of years. Now I want to set it up again, the setup process keeps failing. The App tells me I need to transfer ownership? I've completed a factory reset and tried again. I just seems to be blocked and won't complete the setup process. Any suggestions as to what to do? Nothing wrong with the cam I just don't want to throw out a perfect good item. Ring support could'nt help me other than go through the basic setup steps!

    Hi @user_3632be. You likely have two Ring accounts, and Ring devices can only be set up under one Ring account at a time. If you can remember what email address you might have originally used, you can try to log back into your original Ring account and remove the Indoor Cam. Otherwise, you should be able to use the device ownership transfer process.

     

    Make sure your Ring app is updated, and turn off any VPNs you have on your phone, as those can affect the Ring app performance. If you're still getting an error message with ownership transfer process, please follow up with our social support team @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram to take a closer look.

      Same problem logged transfer request but receive no response. Lack of feedback does not help
