Problem with Live View of ONVIF camera when remote
live-view
troubleshooting

I am trying to get Ring app to Live View a Reolink FE-P (ONVIF) fish eye camera. Live View streaming works fine when I am connected to the WiFi at home. My phone/laptop is on a different VLAN but that does not cause any issues. However, if I am on a remote WiFi or on 5G cell Live View fails for Reolink only. It tires to connect but fails with an error Failed to connect. Other Ring cameras whether on Ring Edge or not works fine. Here is my setup -

  • Ring Plan - Premium Legacy Alarm Professional Monitoring
  • Alarm Pro Base Station
  • Various combinations of POE and Wireless ring cameras
  • Reolink FE-P ONVIF camera using a static IP
  • All cameras are on the same VLAN as well as the Alarm Pro Base Station
  • Router TP-Link ER605 V2
  • Ring Edge enabled for Reolink and at least one other Ring camera
  • I have attempted to enable UPnP (no difference)
  • I have attempted to put the Reolink on DMZ
  • I have attempted to port forward RTSP (554) and ONVIF (8000) to the Reolink IP
  • Running out of ideas

Some more data. Snapshot view every 30s to 60s also works as long as Ring Edge is enabled. Some people suggest that disabling Ring Edge worked for them but in my case disabling it takes the camera offline from Ring app and even snapshot fails.
