Data Breach
ios

I found out this morning that Ring has had a data breach and has said nothing to it’s customers! I found Safari accessed my camera three times on may 28th 2025. This is on TikTok.

Hi @user_ebe5e7. I understand how this is concerning. I can assure that this is just the result of a backend update. You can view more information about this here: https://status.ring.com/ You can also view information on your Authorized Client Devices in your Control Center. https://ring.com/support/articles/hpw10/manage-access-ring-account-devices If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I believe there should be a class action lawsuit. The fact that ring did not notify anyone of this hack on May 28, 2025. I had a total of six different devices logged in on that day. I have four cameras in my house. I work from home, such an invasion of privacy so many things could’ve been compromised.Note: This comment was created from a merged conversationLink : https://community.ring.com/conversations/ring-updates/law-suit/687a3c911c71ec113602ad1eTitle : Law suit

July 18, 2025To whom it may concern,On May 28, 2025, I, along with thousands of other customers, was made aware of a potential data breach originating from the TikTok community. I am profoundly disappointed that Ring failed to directly notify its paying customers. Upon reviewing my account settings, I discovered unauthorized users listed, distinct from my registered devices. My Ring historical footage contains sensitive license plate information pertaining not only to my vehicles but also to those within my neighborhood and beyond. This constitutes a severe breach of privacy, as unknown hackers have accessed this information, potentially for identity theft. I inquire as to the measures being taken to address this critical issue.Note: This comment was created from a merged conversationLink : https://community.ring.com/conversations/general-topics/privacy-breach/687a4a72baf97d361a59962eTitle : Privacy Breach

Unfortunately this happened to me as well, and Ring actually is blocking me notifying my Neighbors about it whenever I post there, very disconcerting they are actively hiding this…

In the same boat. I have taken screen shots and plan to delete the unauthorized users but want to know if I should do anything else to prove this happened? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! Not sure why we didn’t even receive an alert. I just logged in to my account and received the below email and received nothing on 5/28/2025. What is being done since so many people were hacked on May 28th and no one at Ring has told its customers?I was not notified, I didn’t get login attempts to show the same as when I login. You should have come out publicly to disclose what happened and what you have done.I’m ready to send all 5 of my cameras back for a refund due to your negligence and lack of transparency. Just found out about this, so I checked. 5 different authorized users from early AM on May 28. None were me. Not cool RING. Fix your system and notify people ASAP!! Hackers recording/watching us in our homes is the BIGGEST INVASION OF PRIVACY!!! Double verification was supposed to prevent this.. obviously it does not!

I agree. How can they not have said anything? I checked and had 8 different users hack in that day. Something needs to be done.
