Ring doorbell troubles

2nd generation, battery operated, with internal chime, neither wants to work. Fully charged, wifi signal , tried just about everything in the app, says that there is no doorbell, or chime, allocated to this address, then it wants to transfer it to somebody else.
All I would like is a doorbell that works, sounds a chime internally to notify that somebody is at my door, but I have so much trouble with ring. This is not the first instance, whenever I charge it, then the problems start.
