During a recent Xfinity Internet outage, I discovered a concerning limitation of Ring's camera system: Even when my phone and Ring devices are connected to the same local network (LAN), I cannot view real-time camera feeds without internet connectivity.

While I understand that cloud features like saving of video recordings and remote viewing require internet access, the inability to view live feeds locally seems unnecessary. This appears to be a significant vulnerability in the system's design, as all video traffic must route through Ring's cloud servers before reaching devices on the same network.

Has anyone found solutions to make their Ring security system more resilient during internet outages? I'm currently reviewing my home security setup to reduce single points of failure and would appreciate any insights from the community.
