Faceplate disintegration

I have a 1st Gen video doorbell and it seems the metallic surround to the bell button is disintegrating and coming away, this is thin metal and quite sharp, is this normal?

    I don't have the doorbell but this doesn't seem right. Are you still within the first year of service, or if outside of one year, do you have the Protect Plus plan? If so, you should be able to get a warranty replacement by calling it in.
