Had this happen a couple of times now.  Recently a bad hail and thunderstorm caused my two most exposed plug-in stick up cams (3rd gen) to show loss of power (they still had power; worked fine) and changed in App to Solar Status.  Cameras kept working but showed no power to them and on battery power.....they aren't solar and I don't have batteries in them. 

I called Ring support.  They said either leave like that or take down and do a factory reset on them.  It happened last year and I ended up taking down and doing a factory reset (again, they did work but always showed no power and called them solar cams).  This time I tried rebooting from app multiple times; did nothing.  Unplugged power from them; also did nothing.   This time after a few days they did return to normal on their own.

Maybe a bit of water at plug caused voltage to deviate just enough for them to think they were solar cams instead?  Or got pelted with enough hail they lost their brains for a bit?  Lightning in the air?  I don't know.

I saw a post elsewhere on the internet about this i.e. cameras switch from plug-in to solar and stay that way until factory reset or maybe wait it out and they will figure themselves out on their own. 

Has anyone else experienced seen this?  Has Ring heard of this?
