Ring Car Cam Showing Disconnect? READ THIS POST

This is not a question this is an answer and solution to fix your Ring Car Cam if you are seeing disconnection issues in your Ring app on Car Cam footage.After more than one month of waiting on a support request to be fixed by Ring, I FIXED my problem myself. We had a Car Cam that worked for years then suddenly started showing disconnected on the app. Events were recording but not accessible. Couldn’t access the footage but still got alerts and couldn’t go live. But the camera technically was working. Nothing changed in the car, our home WiFi, the Ring Protect Go Plan, the camera, the vehicle battery, the wires, the port only the status of disconnected airways showed up. Ring had no idea what to do mind you escalated to a zillion teams so out of frustration I canceled the Ring Protect Go Plan and then in the app that offline status suddenly disappeared. Huh, odd.So I thought, was the disconnect status associated with the connection between our Car Cam and the Ring Protect Go Plan? After all this time thinking it’s the camera???? No one at Ring ever thought of that. So for giggles I deleted the car cam from our Ring account, reinstalled it then set up a new Ring Protect Go Plan. Guess what folks … IT WORKED.So, if you’re having disconnect issues follow the steps above and you’ll be back online in no time. Your Ring Car Cam is not broken! Be sure to get Ring to cancel and refund your previous Ring Protect Go Plan before you enroll in the new one.
