I had to replace a defective doorbell with a new one. How do I transfer my protection plan to cover it? Its asking me to set up another plan.

The Ring Protect Plus plan will cover all Ring Doorbells and Cameras at a single location, so you won’t need to make any changes if you add a new Doorbell or Camera. If you have the Ring Protect Basic plan, this is tied to only a single Doorbell or Camera. In that case, you would want to cancel the Basic plan for the old device and sign up for a new plan on the new device. You’ll receive a prorated refund for any unused time when you cancel a plan.

Hi @user39224. If your device is being replaced by our support team, you just set up the new device, and your Ring Protect Plan will automatically transfer over. If you purchased a new device as a replacement, you'll have to cancel the old Ring Protect Plan and create a new one for your new device. You can do this on Ring.com.

Is a refund true?  I read the terms and conditions as:

iii. Cancellation of Subscription Plans. If you purchased your Subscription Plan on ring.com, please see Upgrading, Changing, or Canceling your Subscription Plan for more information about canceling your Subscription Plan. After your cancellation, you will continue to enjoy access to the Subscription Plan and your Subscription Plan Recordings until your subscription period ends. Unless we are required to do so under statutory law, you will not receive a refund of any subscription fees already paid. After your subscription period ends, your Subscription Plan Recordings will no longer be accessible to you.

Had to replace a device and will lose my prepaid until Aug 2026 if I read this correctly.
