Ring Wired Video Pro Incompatibility With Broan NuTone C500 -- WHY?

I am aware that the Broan NuTone C500 mechanical chime is listed on the "Incompatible" list for use with the Ring Wired Video Pro Doorbell, but I cannot understand the reason for the incompatibity. The C500 uses a simple momentary single pole contact switch, and both the Ring doorbell and the C500 mechnical chime use AC transformers. The circuit board is difficult to examine due to its mounting within the chime mechanism, but I cannot see a rectified bridge in sight. I have both the 16v AC and the 24v AC transformer versions, and neither are successful. I have tried the V2 and V3 Pro Power kits, but they don't make a difference. If the mechanical chime is actuated with the Ring doorbell in place, it rings forever and never stops, no matter which transformer or Pro Power Kit is used. I have not pulled out the oscilloscope yet, but I am not overly familiar with tracing AC circuits. I would like to use the Broan C500 if at all possible, since it is quite elegant and expensive, not to mention that I had to cut a 5 foot long hole in the drywall to set the case partially within the wall. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with a positive experience or suggestion to correct this problem. Next step, I'll try the AC relay isolation technique.
