Recommended way to remove contact sensors braceplate

I have a contact sensor on a door that I need to remove (its not aligned correctly) but the adhesive tape makes it impossible to remove - what is the best way to get this off my PVC door? Also do Amazon/Ring.com provide replacement adhesive strips that match the shape of the sensors?

Hi @zabius. The best way to remove a Contact Sensor would be to use a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and then using a putty knife to peel the Contact Sensor off of its mounting surface without damaging that area. 3M double sided tape or 3M Command Strips is also a great replacement for the adhesive and can be found at most stores or online.
