Feature Request: Unified Smoke/CO Alarm Alert and Dashboard Reporting for Interconnected Kidde Smart Alarms
I recently upgraded my home’s interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide alarm system with 12 Kidde Ring-compatible Smart Smoke + CO Detectors across three floors. Each detector is properly hardwired and individually connected to my Ring app. The system performs well overall, but I’ve encountered a serious limitation in how alerts are displayed and reported within the Ring ecosystem. When one detector triggers (e.g., due to smoke, vapor, or CO), it activates all other detectors through the hardwire interconnect—as expected. However, all 12 units also report the alarm in the Ring app as individual alerts, causing a flood of push notifications, emails, and text alerts within seconds. This creates confusion and alert fatigue, especially during an emergency. It’s extremely difficult to determine which detector actually initiated the event, both for myself and for the Ring monitoring agents who call me (who often say, "You have multiple alarms," even when it's just one device that triggered all others).Suggested Features:1. Unified Smoke/CO Event Notification – Only the initiating device should trigger a Ring app alert or monitoring call, unless others detect independently.Initiating Device Identification – The Ring dashboard should clearly indicate which detector triggered the system first (e.g., “Alarm initiated by Storage Room Detector”).2. Group Alerts – Show the alarm as a single event affecting the system, rather than 12 separate alerts. This would reduce confusion and make emergency response faster and more accurate. I believe this would benefit not only Ring/Kidde Smart Alarm users, but also monitoring personnel and first responders.Thank you for considering this request!

I am writing to share the same issue. I have two smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as two smoke detectors. The excessive number of alerts that flood my phone when alarms are triggered and when interconnect triggers occur is a significant concern. I wholeheartedly concur that only the initial initiating alarm should transmit an alert to my phone, and that Ring monitoring should be able to identify that alarm as well.
As someone who has been in public safety for over 20 years, being able to pinpoint exactly what alarm was triggered and have Ring be able to tell dispatchers which alarm has been triggered would make it easy for us not only as homeowners who rely on our Kidde + Ring alarms; but also us that respond to the calls. Furthermore, there should be a streamlined method of accessing the cancel request feature, rather than having to navigate through numerous notifications and pages to reach it. Perhaps, the cancellation button option could be incorporated into the notification itself.
