Ring Chime Pro Doesn't Connect
The Wi-Fi in my apartment only supports 5 GHz, so I bought a Ring Chime Pro to extend the coverage to 2.4 GHz. But after fooling around with it for hours, I couldn't get the Ring Chime Pro to connect. I called Ring tech support, and they walked me thru connecting, but before the last step the device started "upgrading the firmware" which means that it kept on running with the wrong light lit. The support tech ended the call, and said to call back after the update ends, but even though I let it run overnight, the “update” never ended. So I returned the device, which I had purchased on eBay at a cut-rate price. For the moment, I am supporting my Ring Indoor Camera 2 by means of a Hot Spot created with Windows 11 on my desktop PC, but this is not a good long-term solution because the hot spot drops out from time to time.Could it be that there was something wrong with the device I bought, and all I need to do is buy another one, presumably from a reputable retailer rather than from an eBay seller, and install it? After all, it is made for this specific purpose and ought to work.Or do I need to purchase some other device such as a specific Wi-Fi extender model that is known to support Ring in this situation? If so, what device do I need, and please point me to details on how someone solved the same problem I am having with it.

I'm having so many problems with Ring devices, 1 of two doorbell cams and a chime, that I'm looking for another manufacturer. Ring has taken up far too much of my time
