Ring Sensor: 2nd gen vs "newest" z wave model

How do the newest model Ring Sensors compare to the 2nd gens?
I have noticed some of the door sensor chimes are VERY delayed on my keypads. I factory reset my keypads and I have the same issues. I'm in a single story 1800 square foot home so the coverage isn't that far but maybe I need an alarm extender?
I have a similar question for the new chimes vs the 2nd gen chimes. Is there connectivity improved? My 2nd gens disconnect on their own and that's while using a Chime Pro.
