WARNING SAFETY CONCERN WITHOUT HELP
🚨 WARNING TO CURRENT & FUTURE RING USERS 🚨
I never thought I’d be writing this, but people need to be aware.
All of my home security cameras were suddenly transferred to an unknown “owner” WITHOUT my authorization. I can’t access my own cameras inside my house—but someone else can.
Ring’s response?
They told me I have to request permission from that unknown person to get my own devices back… and wait up to 15 days.
Let that sink in.
An unknown party has control over cameras inside my home, and the company will not immediately revoke their access.
Even worse:
- My account history basically “disappeared”
- I was able to create a new account with the same email like nothing ever existed
- Support was dismissive and even suggested I “forgot my email”
- No urgency, no protection, no real help
This is NOT about a glitch or inconvenience.
This is about losing control of cameras inside your home and being told to wait while someone else has access.
Whether they are actively watching or not does not matter. They have access. I don’t. At a minimum, I expected immediate protective action to disable access. Instead, I was told to wait on the unknown party currently in control of my devices.
If you use Ring, I strongly recommend:
- Checking your device ownership immediately
- Reviewing your account access and security settings
- Being aware that this situation is possible
I am currently escalating this because this is a serious safety and privacy failure.
People deserve to know.
