Ring Doorbell Camera

Quite disappointed that the anti-theft housing units that are secured onto the door keep you from having the full horizontal view from camera; doors are inset and that inset blocks the "peripheral view". Almost able to put a 2x4 behind the mount so that it is flush with the wall, bit it is a bit too thick. Does anyone know of a anti-theft mounting device for the exterior wall???
