Ring Intercom wiring issue with Golmar T-500: Hookswitch action triggers false ring notifications on Pin 10 (Audio In)
troubleshooting

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with my Ring Intercom connected to a Golmar T-500 indoor handset and a Golmar PE-295/1 GRF outdoor panel.

During setup, the app instructs me to use the following wiring combination:

  • C-2 into port 10 (Audio from outdoor station)

  • C-3 into port 5

  • C-4 into port 3

  • C-5 into port P1

  • C-6 into port 0

The Problem: Pin 10 is essential because it handles the incoming audio from the outdoor panel, so I cannot disconnect it (otherwise, I cannot hear visitors when answering via the Ring app). However, because of this connection, every time I pick up or put down the home telephone handset, the mechanical movement of the hookswitch creates a voltage or impedance shift on the line. The Ring Intercom incorrectly interprets this mechanical transition as someone pressing the doorbell, resulting in constant false ring notifications every time the handset is used locally.

Has anyone encountered this hookswitch interference issue with the Golmar T-500? Is there an alternative wiring layout, resistor adjustment, or software setting to prevent the hookswitch from triggering false calls while keeping the outdoor audio working?

Thank you for your help!
