Alternative Wiring Setup for Elvox ART 900-902
Is your Intercom wiring setup different from what the Ring app shows? You may have an alternative wiring configuration.
This post shows how to connect your Ring Intercom if the standard setup in the Ring app doesn’t match your intercom. For this model, the Ring app shows you to connect the Ring Intercom C5 cable to terminal 7. If you cannot find terminal 7 on your intercom, this post explains why and what to do instead. In some versions of this model, the terminal for the unlock function of your intercom is not on the main control board.
Instead, it has its own separate terminal block located directly behind the unlock button on the cover of your intercom. If your intercom has two unlock buttons on the cover, it will have two separate terminal blocks, one behind each button. Look at the cover of your intercom to identify which unlock button you use (see photo 1), then locate the terminal block that sits behind that button inside the intercom.Once you have located the correct terminal block (see photo 2):
- Connect the Ring Intercom C5 cable to the bottom terminal of that terminal block (see red circle in photo 2)
Check whether this terminal block is already connected to the main control board. This connection is usually a short wire or metal strip linking the two (see red outline in photo 3).If the connection is already there → you are done. No further wiring needed.
- If the connection is not there → connect the Ring Intercom C1 cable to the top terminal (see red circle in photo 4) of the same terminal block, directly above where you connected C5. *Please note: In photo 4, the terminal block is already connected to the main control board. The red circle labelled C1 is shown for reference only, to indicate where you would connect C1 if that connection were absent.
