Poor Quality Doorbell
I’m posting to highlight a major issue I’ve experienced with my Ring doorbell: the casing is visibly corroding, even though the device is designed for outdoor use.
Details:
  • The doorbell is installed outside, as intended, but the metal casing around the button has developed significant corrosion.
  • This is especially disappointing given that outdoor devices should be built to withstand weather conditions.
  • The corrosion not only looks unsightly but also raises concerns about the long-term durability and reliability of the product.
Photo Reference:You can see in the attached image that the area around the button is already showing signs of wear and corrosion, despite regular use and exposure only to typical weather.
Feedback/Request:Has anyone else experienced this issue with their Ring doorbell? If so, did you find a solution or get support from the manufacturer? I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations for more robust alternatives.
Thanks for reading!

I bought two of the same doorbell, dark finish, in May 2024.  Both shows signs of corrosion in several places, including blistering.  I have not taken any action about this but it is indicative of poor materials or process control in manufacturing.  One has completely functionally failed (the reason why I am on this site), unlikely due to the observed corrosion.
