Your Ring Doorbell will not record 24/7, only when motion is detected, someone rings the bell, or Live View is activated. This means an event must have occurred in order for there to be a video recording at that time in the Event History. An active Ring Home subscription is also required for access to video recording. Motions farther out from the doorbell may not be detected as easily at night due to the difference in lighting, but motion detection does not stop at night.
In the Mode settings, you can control if a Ring device detects and records motion or not. Please check your Mode Settings to ensure you do not have motion detection turned off in a specific Mode. I also recommend reviewing your Motion Zones and Motion Sensitivity to make sure they are set to your liking. You can test your motion settings during a specific time frame by walking in front of your doorbell to trigger a motion event during that time. This will help you know if you need to make adjustments. If these issues persist, please follow up with our support team @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram.
