- VI'm experiencing the same. I even bought a new battery pack but still discharges. Will try setting it so that it doesn't use too much battery and see what happens. In any case, what would be the best voltage and current specs for a transformer? I currently have a 12Vdc 50VA•

- JHi @vazquezjm. A 16V 30VA transformer is ideal for homes with older doorbell systems. Other than that, a transformer that meets the requirements of 8–24 VAC at a maximum of 40 VA will work. Also, DC transformers are not supported.•

I am having this problem too, with hardwired video doorbell 3. 16VAC power (that I already replaced thinking it was the issue). Motion detection is approximately set to 60% sensitivity on an area of around 50% of the screen. I just disabled the colour night mode (which makes me sick as the device is sold with this functionality) to see if it helps.
The fact that this device is hardwired should prevent the battery to be empty at all time. This is a (very) bad product design. The worse thing is that we do not even receive a notification when the device goes offline because the battery is empty, even with the Ring Subscription!
