- B@mjjmpeters Usually the battery will be what goes first. People are used to traditional doorbells lasting decades but devices like Ring have a life span. Its not a knock on them its just all electronic devices will need replaced eventually. Around 3 or 4 years I would accept as by then a much better model will likely be out anyway. A lot depends on the climate where you live and what conditions the doorbell has been exposed to. Think about how often you upgrade your phone. Same thing really.•

I just came here to see what other users have experienced. I just had to replaced my very first ring doorbell. Original was bought in 2019. It's been dead since Dec though, middle of freezing winter. It stopped detecting motion and recording, then finally completely stopped working. Lasted about 5.5 years. I guess I should expect my other ring devices to be dying soon too.

Ring Doorbells and Security Cameras are designed to last many years. Different factors can impact this, including the climate and weather conditions your Ring device is installed in. With battery powered devices, the battery may not work as well after years of use.
