- WCaitlyn, Thank you for the reply. The door is 50-60ft from a street that gets some traffic, but not busy by any stretch of the imagination. There is one step up to a small 8' x6' porch in front of the door, but that step is 8 ft away from the front door. Not really sure what Ring I would get. I'm one to usually get the latest model, but am open to whatever model works best for my situation. Thanks!•

C@wxmanrocks Thanks for sharing that additional information. I'd recommend taking a look at our Doorbell Buyer's Guide [here](https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035250032-The-Ring-Doorbell-Buyer-s-Guide), as it will list all of the specifications of our Doorbells and help you decide which one may be the best fit. Overall, you may have some motion detection concerns if it is mounted too low but if you get one of the battery-operated models, you can mount it higher than your existing doorbell circuit. This may be the better option in your situation, and the Buyer's Guide will let you know which models run off of battery power.•0

WCaitlyn, Unfortuately mounting it higher is a non-starter-I have vinyl siding and my replacement doorbell needs to cover the hole that is there. Not looking good. Sigh.•0

CHi @user65032. As mentioned, you may have some motion detection concerns when the Ring Doorbell is mounted either lower or higher than the recommended height. Everyone's home and environment is different, which will also affect motion detection to some degree.•0

I am looking at installing a Ring Video Door bell - but it's an old-fashioned style door for which the building has two flat. The highest we could go is around 105 cms, Alas, above that there are expensive glass panels - so we can't risk damaging any of them - as leading to a potential costly replacement. What can we do. Other neighbours have other brands, and they keep low. Hmmm Any advice comments helpful /appreciated

JHi @user_d94716. As mentioned in the thread, if you mount your Doorbell lower than what is recommended, your motion detection may not work correctly. We do have mounts available on Ring.com called No Drill Mounts that do not require drilling. These might benefit you for your installation. You can find those mounts here.
