Useless Ring service
Hello all, I’m really after some help here as I am running out of ideas.
I recently purchased 2 spotlight cam plus units for my mums house and looked to install them with solar panels.
I fitted them and made all connections but only one camera recognised the panel.
I immediately spoke to ring and for this encounter a replacement was sent out a couple of days later.
However, then the second unit stopped recognising the solar panel. I contacted Ring again and the solution was to send me out another unit.
I waited.
I got an email to say it was despatched and on its way to DPD. The last time this happened the unit arrived within 24 hours.
I waited 5 days after this email to speak to Ring again as it appeared that maybe this had been stolen or gone missing. On the DPD tracking it started they were aware of the delivery. It hadn’t received the item.
the person I spoke to said I had to wait at least 7 days.. but during the chat and despite saying ‘this item is under great demand’ I was assured it had been sent out.
Day 7, I contacted Ring again. This time they spoke to the ordering and shipping team who confirmed (despite my email) that the item was never sent out for some reason. However, they promised that I would receive the unit by the 20th June.. I can’t remember if they were sending out something new or the initial unit that didn’t get sent out.
20th rolled around. DPD tracking still
said ‘order confirmed/no item) so I asked what was happening. This time they spoke to the ordering and shipping team who explained the item had actually been out of stock for this entire time.
As way of apology they refunded my mum £7.99 for a months subscription and then stated that as this was out of stock, they would be upgrading ne up to the spotlight pro as this was available.
At this point I also emails the CEO and all ring help addresses I could find as I was bored of talking to people reading from scripts.
Again.. I waited. I think on the 23rd I contacted Ring again as I had had no update and at this point it had now been over a fortnight with zero development beyond just being lied to and having promises made without any kind of sign that they would be carried out.
This time I was told that they were all very busy and I’d have to ‘wait’ which apparently I hadn’t done enough of over the previous 14 days.
I also, after this, sent another email as I had not received any kind of reply from them either..
Now it is the 27th.. Monday will be 3 weeks and I still have no new news.
No replies to any emails. No idea of when this unit is coming or if it’s coming. No updates from Ring at all and I am seriously running out of options now to get this resolved.
My rights under the consumers act, I should have been given a replacement within a reasonable time frame and this continues to not happen.. but nothing is.
Any advice? Or can anyone escalate this somehow as this is becoming mental!
