Unable to set Motion Zone to full screen
app-settings

I just bought the new Outdoor Cam Plus on battery power. I'm trying to edit the Motion Zone. It appears that a large portion of the cameras view is not available for the zone. Basically, the upper 25% of the view area is not shown in the Edit Zones page within the app. I confirmed this in my android phone app, as well as iPad app. I am able to set the whole camera view for my other cameras, but they are older cams. Can anyone duplicate this for the new Outdoor Cam Plus? Is the top 25% of the cameras view unavailable in the Edit Zone section of the app?

Hi @user_75eda0. The view you see when editing your Motion Zones reflects the area that your camera can detect motion in. This may not be the same as the view you see when you activate the Live View.

Caitlyn, my other 7 cameras show the exact same view when editing the Motions Zones as I see when I activate Live View ... so there must be another setting somewhere that is prohibiting the entire view when attempting to edit the Motion Zones. UPDATE: I just checked my other 7 cameras, and now they are all the same ... the top portion of the zone is completely cut off, a good 1/3rd. This was NOT like this previously. Whatever Ring has done to change this, please change it back. Now I cannot even see my back gate, my side gate, my entire driveway, my mailbox, my vehicle in the driveway! What's the purpose of having motion detection if only the bottom portion of the view senses motion? Who can we complain to?

I have this problem with ALL of my cameras!!! Do we have a solution for this? What is the purpose of having zones that you CAN NOT properly edit!

Have you tried adjusting the privacy view? Device settings-Privacy Settings-widen or remove the privacy view. This fixed our issue that I believe occurred when the app updated.

I have EXACTLY the same problem with one of my Stick Up Cams, and just cannot figure it out! All the others work flawlessly! At first, I thought it was the camera itself, so I replaced it with a brand new one ... same problem. I hope someone has a solution to this problem! I did follow the suggestion of one of the users about Privacy Settings, and this did not work!

I am having this same issue ... the zone for motion capture is not editable for the upper portion of the field of view that the camera sees. Very frustrating!
