STOLEN STICK UP CAMERA WHAT TO DO
I am extremely disappointed with the service form ring so far , refusing to replace my camera under theft protection because i bought it from amazon the company that owns ring feels like i have been ripped off and left in the wind at a time of loss. I am definitely considering my options and replacing my entire ring alarm system The bigger issue is nobody has told me what to do about the stolen camera , is there a data protection issue ? do i need to deregister the camera ? can ring disable to it from future use despite asking nobody has told me if anything is at a greater risk now someone has my camera

If the policy was changed after my camera was stolen then surely you should still honor the previous terms and conditions ?

Hi @user_e443d2. As long as you purchased the device from an authorized retailer, you can use our Theft Protection Policy.
https://ring.com/support/articles/90nj3/Stolen-Ring-Devices
In the link above, you can submit a stolen Ring Device. Let me know if you have additional questions.

Uamazon is an authorised seller so why wont you cover it Yes, Amazon as an authorized third-party seller However it's mentioned on the same article that you just sent me that we dosn't cover devices purchased from any third-party seller So Device not purchased from - this is a courtesy service and ring may deny this service at any time for any reason and the reason in this case is the device was originally bought from a third-party seller But in the meanwhile we still follow our policy and process and the device is not from Ring and it can't be replaced .

THi @user_e443d2. I've provided you with accurate information. If a device is purchased from Amazon, Target, Home Depot, etc., it is considered as an authorized retailer. A third-party retailer would be eBay or Facebook Marketplace- which is not covered. If you have additional questions, feel free to send us a private message on Facebook or X @Ring, where we can assist you further.

I'm having the same very frustrating issue. I've had my ring doorbell for 34 days and it's been stolen. Ring won't replace it as I bought it from a 3rd party company, ie Amazon. Who actually own Ring. Absolutely disgusting, amazon won't do anything either so I'm out of pocket and fuming.

I'm with you, we have multiple properties and we purchased our camera through Ring's Amazon store, (ironically enough Amazon owns Ring I believe). and they did not want to honor it. Anything to make a buck, luckily we can spend our money wherever we want. Plenty of other solutions out there.

THi @user_e443d2. My best suggestion would be to contact us on Facebook or X @Ring, ask for a supervisor and explain the timeline of events. Also, share this thread and ask if a 1 time courtesy replacement can be made. I understand where you're coming from and the timing of this policy change was not in your favor. Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to process these requests here in the Community, so reaching out on the socials is your best bet. I'm sorry we came up short it your circumstance, but I'm confident my team on Facebook/X will be able to assist you. Be sure to share the link to this thread in your message and let me know how it goes. Thanks for being a Ring neighbor.

Hi neighbors. Shortly after my response, Ring policy was changed and no longer covers devices not purchased on Ring.com. While they were covered at the time when I first replied, this is no longer true. Sorry for the confusion, and we'll work on the continuity of information moving forward. Ring will now only cover devices for theft if they are purchased from Ring.com.
