Ring spotlight cam plus not charging
I received a replacement Spotlight Cam Plus from Ring because my original one wouldn’t charge using the Ring hardwired kit. Unfortunately, the new camera has the exact same issue.
I’ve fully charged the battery, reset the camera several times, and checked that the hardwired kit is receiving power. The app shows “Solar Status: Connected” when the kit is plugged in, and when the kit powers up it displays “A Ring solar accessory is connected and able to charge this device.”
Despite all that, the camera still won’t charge unless I remove the battery and charge it directly.
At this point I’m wondering if the hardwired kit itself might be faulty.

Hi sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I tried that with both the original unit and the replacement I've got but it's still the same

THi @Seasidercol. What percentage is your battery at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day? How many events is your device recording? How many hours of direct sunlight does your Solar Panel get?

SI don't have a solar panel connected it is connected to a hard wired kit but won't charge. The battery uses around 8-10% a day with anything up to 30 events a day being recorded.

Hi @Seasidercol. The Hardwired Kit needs to be installed on a junction box providing 110-240V. When properly installed, the camera should have continuous power, with the battery available as a back-up power source. I would recommend following up with our support team @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram to look into this further.

SIt's all wired up correctly and receiving power I've checked with a multimeter so I think it's the Hardwired kit as I've had 2 cameras and they both won't power via the kit.

Hi @Seasidercol. Try resetting your device by pressing and holding the setup button for 20 seconds, then releasing. Next, check your Power Management in the Device Settings menu. Let me know if this helps.
