Problem with Quality on Laptop Access Compared to Phone.
troubleshooting

I extended my internet to my garage so I could run the Ring security camera with floodlights.

Home router to garage wireless access point via Cat6.

Used my phone connected to the wireless access point to set up the Ring Camera. All working well.

When I access the Ring from my house using my phone, while connected to the home router instead of the access point it works well.

When I access the Ring on my laptop, connected to the same home router the picture is pixelated. The Networks status is showing “low internet speed” and the internet upload speed is 9Mbs.

What I don’t understand is that accessing from my phone using the same wireless router everything on the camera looks great, health etc all good.

My internet connection to the laptop is good, same speed as to the phone, download is 36Mbps and upload is 8.5.

Any thoughts?

Hi @user_fd6643. This doesn't seem to be an issue with the Ring Camera's connection, considering the video quality is fine when you're accessing the Live View from your phone. Mobile phones will often utilize mobile data if the wifi signal isn't very strong, whereas a laptop will not have that option.

It's recommended to have at least 2Mbps download and upload speed for each Ring device. If you have several other devices on your network also utilizing the speed, this could be why the video quality is poor on your laptop.
