Older ring doorbell cam getting worse

Has anybody had this problem with original doorbell cam, it’s has been getting way worse with clarity and even recording any contacts unless they actually ring the doorbell. Video quality is total garbage right now with any distance from the cam more than three feet! Is it just built in to start failing so you have to buy a new one? I mean really a camper is a camera. And no it doesn’t see any bad weather, it’s under a porch overhang so it stays dry and out of the element.
