Live View not working on E2EE - Cameras and Doorbells
Hi folks,
For about the last week, Live View has not worked on any of my cameras or doorbells with E2EE enabled. Replay still works, and I can actually view the live view content there.......just not actually live!
Live View works on all of my cameras without E2EE enrolled, and if I de-enroll E2EE then live view works on all devices again.
I'm suspecting a firmware issue between E2EE and their own devices. I used the Chat Support function and got a different answer 3 different times...one time, the agent told me that Live View isn't supported on E2EE anymore, which seems very incorrect.
This is impacting my Stick-Up Cameras (V3), and Doorbell Pro. I have already tried:
- Uninstall the Ring app from enrolled devices. Reinstall the app, re-enroll the viewer device.
- Unenroll the camera from E2EE, re-enroll
- Factory reset the camera, re-enroll
- Access the devices in different ways - on WiFi and 5G, no VPN.
Nothing seems to work. I suspect a firmware issue.

Hi @user_2f31fc. Thank you for listing out which troubleshooting steps you have tried so far. What happens when you try to activate Live View? Are you getting a specific error message, or does it just appear to be loading without ever showing the view? If you can, please share a screenshot. Additionally, which version of the Ring app do you have installed? Are you using an iOS or Android phone, and which version of OS is installed on the phone?

MJI am experiencing this issue as well. It just started with version 5.91.1 of the iOS Ring app. It works just fine on an Android device, so I know the issue is solely with the latest iOS app. The live feed just says “Loading” and will eventually time out.

Hello, I’ve been experiencing the same issue for a little over a week now. I’ve spoken with Ring Support. I was told I would receive a call/email in 24-48 hours because they had to escalate the issue. I was told this on 11/20. I have not received this call or email yet.

Thank you for your continued feedback. I checked with my team regarding this issue, and they let me know that it should be resolved in the next Ring app update. I do not have a specific date to share, as updates are not rolled out to every user at the same time. You should be able to set up automatic updates via the app store.
