Animal detection
troubleshooting
My backyard camera is not detecting animals, even a large deer. It always detects people but never animals. Motion sensitivity is Max, smart alerts are off. Distance range is only about 15-20 feet. Can’t figure out why it won’t detect animals.

Hi @user_53e84e. Ring devices aren't specifically designed to capture animals, though larger animals are often still picked up if they move within the device's Motion Zones. If an animal moves too quickly or is too far from the camera, it is less likely to be detected. You could try enabling Smart Alerts and turning on motion detection for both Person and Other motions to see if that works better for you.
