It helps eliminate some of the potential issues. There is a possibility that when you initially set up this Contact sensor, that it may have downloaded slightly corrupted Firmware when it updated. This could be causing your issue. You can do a Factory reset on the Contact sensor, which will clean out any downloaded Firmware, and return it to the basic Factory Firmware that it came with from the manufacturer. Once the Factory reset is done, you will repeat the setup procedures and it will again download updated Firmware, hopefully a nice clean un-corrupted version. I don't know whether you have the Gen1 or Gen2 Contact Sensor. So I included both links to each Generation version. There you'll find the instructions for performing the Factory Reset on your Contact Sensor.
