Solar panel for ring doorbell
I have a ring gen 2 doorbell with solar panel. They have just sent a replacement for both as something wasn’t working as the doorbell was not charging. I have just connected the 2 new things and it shows the solar panel “connected “ not a green connected like before ( was green and said solar device is connected and ready to charge your device) however the battery shows the little sun. Does this mean the solar panel is functioning?? The Gen 2 has a built in battery so I can’t even buy a second to switch out.

Thank you for responding. I get full sun most of the day, and it does not show device is connected to solar and ready to charge like my other solar panels. The one that was replaced said this and then stopped working, which is why they replaced both the solar and the doorbell as they didn’t know which one was not working. If I reboot it will connect and say it, then disconnect shortly after.

Hi @user_1bee6b. I would recommend giving it a day or so to allow the panel to receive direct sunlight. Once the solar device has stored power, it should then display as connected. We have more information on how to troubleshoot solar accessories here: https://ring.com/support/articles/s8kul/troubleshooting-solar-charger-and-solar-panel.
