Ring false alarm and response

- The issueRing identified a fault in our Ring system as described below. We were fined for a false alarm police response due to this fault. Ring committed to refund the fine amount. Ring has not fulfilled their commitment. The fault in the Ring system has not been addressed and leaves us with limited confidence in our Ring security system.- Background to our Ring system failure, false alarm, fine by local authorities, Ring’s commitment to pay the fine and subsequent actions by Ring.July 21: Credit of $29.97 added to Ring account.July 21: Chat with Angle at Ring. She said that she would credit $60 and tag her supervisor for the remaining $140 that was promised.July 21: called Ring at 1-XXXXXXXXXX. Total time on phone was 31 minutes. Was told by Ellein. Was told that I should have seen a refund of $200 between June 20 to 25. I told her I did not see this refund. She said she would escalate the case.June 27: chat on the Ring site with Rami. He noted that he could see that the case was escalated and I would get an email when any action was taken.May 23: I called Ring at 1-XXXXXXXXXX. Spoke with Harold in the Philippines. He sent me a link to send the false alarm bill from our city. I sent the bill and the receipt of payment from our city.April 15: I called Ring at 1-XXXXXXXXXX. Spoke with Fran in the Philippines. Fran told me that when we had a power outage on April 07 and when the power came back on that there was a delay in the Ring system in reflecting that the power was back on and that this caused the motion detector to indicate motion detected when the alarm was set for away.April 07: I was in the Bahamas with the alarm was triggered by a false detection of motion. I was not in cell service range and did not get timely notification of the alarm. Ring contacted the local police. The local police came to our house and determined that there had not been any break-in.
