Ring support for Yale YRD450-F locks
I recently purchased four of the "Yale Assure 2 Touch with Z-Wave Key-Free" (YRD450-F-ZW3) locks for use with my Ring Alarm system. Unfortunately, after about 15 hours of struggling (including talking with Yale support and talking with Ring support), I was informed by Ring that the YRD450-F locks are not yet fully supported by Ring.I went through the process of setting up these locks in the Yale app, and at the end of the process, I used the option to enroll them to be managed by an external smart home system. I successfully added them to Ring - I am able to see the lock status in the Ring app, and I can lock/unlock them using the Ring app. However, I am not able to see the locks in Ring's user settings area: this is where I should be able to create a user in the Ring system, assign an access code to that user, and then select which locks that user should be able to use. A friend of mine uses the Yale Assure SL (YRD256-ZW2) locks with his Ring system and he sees his SL locks in the user screen. Here are some screenshots:My Ring app where I can see the lock status & lock/unlock them: https://ibb.co/PzLgGhy My Ring app where I create a user but do not see the locks appear: https://ibb.co/nst5x9p My friend's Ring app where he sees his Assure SL locks appear in the user screen: https://ibb.co/gWWDBLYThis past Monday, I was on the phone with Yale tech support for about 40 minutes to make sure I was setting them up correctly, which I was. I was then on the phone with Ring tech support for about 90 minutes, after which they informed me that the "YRD450-F" is not fully supported by Ring. They said it was due to the lock supporting fingerprints and Ring not being ready to support the YRD450-F lock - however, when I look at the lock settings in the Yale app, it clearly shows that while I can assign a fingerprint to a user in the Yale app, it shows that access codes are managed by an external system. That completely makes sense...people should be able to manage fingerprints via the Yale app, and let the smart home system (Ring) manage the access codes.Ring product integration team: please add support for the Yale YRD450-F lock so they can be fully integrated into and supported by Ring. I'm happy to provide more info.
