Matter and Apple HomeKit support
We were first promised Apple HomeKit support at Apple’s WWDC in 2016, yet more than a decade later we are still waiting for this feature to be delivered.
Apple HomeKit now supports Matter, which should make integration even easier. Despite this, customers have still not received any meaningful update regarding HomeKit support.
I would like to express my concern that this prolonged delay may amount to false advertising. Many customers, myself included, invested heavily in the Ring ecosystem—including doorbells, alarms, cameras, and floodlights—based on the understanding that Apple HomeKit support would eventually be provided. As a result, many of us have spent considerable sums of money expecting this functionality to become available.
Could you please provide a clear update on the status of Apple HomeKit support and confirm when customers can realistically expect it to be released? I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
If this situation continues without a clear response or timeline, my neighbours and I will have little choice but to seek legal advice and raise our concerns with EU consumer protection authorities. However, I sincerely hope that this issue can be resolved amicably before any further escalation becomes necessary.
