USB-C solar charger
Ring doorbell
I purchased the new USB-C solar charger for my newer Ring doorbell version, which has a USB-C and a built-in battery. My front door faces south and receives many hours of sunlight, from 9am until 4pm. Before I purchased the solar charger. I use the built-in battery, fresh out of the box, charged up to 100% with a plug-in cable to charge the battery before installation. The battery lasts about 2 weeks with the maximum frequency of motion sensor mode, before needing to take it off to recharge. It is the front door, so I don’t want to miss any people coming near the front door or package deliveries. The battery lasts for more than two weeks. After installed the solar charger, the charging icon showing during the during of the day is charging. However, the battery is draining much quicker with the solar charger. Less than a week the battery is draining even during the day with the bright direct sunlight. I wondering is the solar charger is defected. (Fully charge to 100% connect to the solar panel, in 4 days down to 25%.)
I compared with my son’s older version of the Ring door bell, with removable battery and connect the other model of solar charging panel, two wires connected the two screws behind the doorbell. His front door facing East with sunlight only for 3 hours the most, kept the removable battery charging petty well, battery life at 70% going into the 3rd week after installed the solar panel. Setting matching motion sensor frequency and snap shot minutes, Recording as default auto.
Is there a way to test or any tool to test the usb c panel to test it charging the doorbell and not draining the battery.
Any help suggestions?

Hi @user_87a2f9. Battery life can vary, but the battery draining in only four days is rather unusual. Make sure to review the Event History to see if the amount of activity has been the same as before the Solar Charger was installed, or if it has increased. Increased activity and cold temperatures can both cause the battery to drain more quickly than usual.
If activity has not increased, I'd suggest disconnecting the Solar Charger, then rebooting the Ring Doorbell using the reboot option on the Device Health page. After that, reconnect the Solar Charger and monitor your doorbell's battery performance. If the battery is still draining within a few days, please reach out to our support team @Ring on Facebook, X, or Instagram to take a closer look.
