Doorbell cam does not connect in live mode

I have a HD ring and it gets motion and turns on the camera but when I try to go into live mode it times out after a minute or two. Also, seems to take a long time to answer the doorbell via Android phone app. Sometimes delivery people are leaving by the time it activates. This is NOT the performance I paid for with the ring doorbell.
