I ordered a Ring doorbell and added on installation by their recommend Tech company, Hello Tech for $129. The technician came out, installed the Ring doorbell incorrectly and at the same time rewired a second existing doorbell that should not have been touched. He then didn’t know how the rewire it back which left it no longer working. He then messaged me to say he’d come back and fix it, agreeing that it was not wired properly and then proceeded to not come back to fix it claiming he wasn’t a certified electrician. After multiple calls to both Ring and HelloTech, HelloTech agreed I am due a refund however, they claim they can’t process the refund because it was billed by Ring. I’ve talked to Ring and they say they can’t process the refund either. I’ve gone back and forth with both companies at least 10x. I had to hire an electrician come out to fix this mess and need someone to refund me. Hello Tech is a scam company and should be put out of business. Sending techs who have no idea how to deal with electrical work isn’t safe for anyone. Their customer service has been horrible and so has Ring. Ring also agreed over the phone that I should be getting a refund but that there’s nothing that they can do. They are the ones that charged me and should be able to provide the refund! Claim has been filed with the Better Business Bureau, check them out, thousands of claims against Ring and Hello Tech. Buyer beware!
