Remove security cover entirely

Hi - our family has set up a ring camera to monitor our brother who has Alzheimer's. The trouble is - he keeps closing the privacy cover and we have no way to hear or see him. Then it takes one of us a couple hour drive to get to his house to open the cover - until the next time he does it. Is there a way to remove the cover entirely - so he can't keep closing it? Or will doing so - prevent the sound and camera live view? Meaning will this break the camera?

Hi @user_cdc573. Is this the Indoor Cam 2nd Gen? The Privacy Cover can be removed, and it will not impact the camera functionality.
